Former Football Academy Player Returns

Football Player Returns

Former Football Academy player and now professional footballer for Norwich City Sean Raggett returned to the Abbey School on Wednesday to talk to students and take the Academies final training session of the season.

Sean spoke to a selected number of year 7-10 students about his progression from the academy and how hard he has had to work to now be living the dream.

Sean said “I can’t believe it was nearly 5 years ago I left the Academy and school it doesn’t seem like yesterday. As soon as I came back into the school some great memories come back to me. The Academy helped me on my journey to now being a professional footballer”

Sean took the Academy through a training session that he would regularly do with Norwich City which they really enjoyed.

Mike “it’s good for our players to see someone like Sean go through the Academy and make it as a professional footballer. We talk about hard work and dedication all the time but here today is living proof. It was really nice to have Sean come back into the Academy which he is still as grounded as the day he left. This is real credit to him and his attitude to always wanting to improve which has and will get him further opportunities. I would like to thank Sean for coming in today, he has taken the time out to come back when most players go straight on holiday during the off season. It was a great day for our students and academy players”

Sean also presented the Academy with a signed shirt.

The Academy and the Abbey school will continue to track his progress throughout his career.
